Did you know that Merimbula is the same distance to Sydney and Melbourne. It also has an airport if the drive is a bit long.
Here is a nice place to stay. Sails Luxury Apartments Merimbula, NSW, overlooks a bridge where I used to catch prawns at night as a kid. Within easy walking distance of the main town centre and a slightly longer walk (or short drive) from the inlet and ocean beaches.

Shanghai hopes to cement its burgeoning reputation as a global tourist hotspot by allowing visitors to spend three days in the city without a visa.
As a new year commences, citizens from 45 countries will be permitted a 72-hour visa-free stay inside the “administrative area” of Shanghai, the municipal government said on Sunday.
The countries include the United States, France, Japan and Australia.

The southern hemisphere’s largest flower festival, Floriade, celebrates 25 years with events and activities around a Style and Design theme this spring.
Canberra’s Commonwealth Park will be transformed from 15 September – 14 October with celebrity cooking demonstrations, runway shows by Jayson Brunsdon and Wayne Cooper and appearances by horticulture experts.
From 26- 30 September the park comes alive after dark with Floriade NightFest featuring live comedy, music and light displays.

Boosting its Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions segment plus is leisure appeal, Darwin’s Mantra on the Esplanade is preparing to unveil months of refurbishments later this year.
Mantra Group NT marketing manager Angie Robinson told e-Travel Blackboard at the NT Muster that the $3 million project is expected to be completed by the end of this month and an unveiling of the re-decorated property is planned for 20 April this year.
“The changes will boost our profile,” she said.
